Journeyman Drywall Finisher

Drywall Finishers are responsible for applying drywall compound to the seams between drywall panels and to nail and screw indentations into the surface of the panels.  The finisher will work on new walls and ceilings and will repair existing walls as well.  At times drywall finishers are required to use ladders and/or scaffolding to install their work.  Drywall finishers are required to provide their own hand tools, however the larger tools such as bazookas and skim boxes are supplied by Burch Construction.

Journeyman Metal Stud Framer Drywall/Lather

A metal stud framer needs to be proficient in the use of electric or hand tools to construct wall systems consisting of steel studs and drywall.  The primary duties for this position involve sizing and cutting metal studs, installing metal track and wall studs, and installing drywall to the metal studs.  Metal stud framers are often required to assemble ladders and other types of equipment to perform their work.  This position requires strict adherence to safe work practices including keeping the work area free of debris and other safety hazards.
